Form W-9 — U.S. Authors
All U.S. authors who will receive royalty payments from Written Words Publishing are required to submit a completed Form W-9. This form provides the taxpayer information Written Words Publishing needs for tax reporting purposes. Authors who receive $10 or more in royalty payments during a calendar year are generally reported to the IRS on Form 1099-MISC. Please complete and submit the W-9 before royalty payments are issued. Your tax information will be collected and maintained securely and used only for applicable tax reporting and business recordkeeping purposes.
Form W-8BEN — International Authors
Authors who are not U.S. persons and will receive royalty payments from Written Words Publishing should complete Form W-8BEN instead of Form W-9. Form W-8BEN establishes your foreign status for U.S. tax purposes and, when applicable, may be used to claim a reduced rate of or exemption from U.S. tax withholding under an income tax treaty. Please complete and submit the W-8BEN before royalty payments are issued. Your tax information will be collected and maintained securely and used only for applicable tax reporting, withholding, and business recordkeeping purposes.
