Writing Tip: Use synonyms to prevent repeating the same word in the same sentence or the same paragraph or on the same page (if you can avoid it). Nine times out of ten, there's more than one way to write it.

Writing Tip: Catch it while you can! Document the thought while it's fresh on your mind before it disappears forever...
Minimize Exclamation Points!
Writing Tip: Minimize Exclamation Points! There should only be 2-3 exclamation points typed throughout your ENTIRE MANUSCRIPT. The characters’ actions should speak loud enough to minimize exclamation points.
Delete Unnecessary Words
Writing Tip: Some words writers tend to use often are unnecessary. Search your manuscript for the following words: just, really, that, very. Delete the word, then read the sentence out loud. Most times, you'll find those words are unnecessary.
